We only come out at night

My Major Project is titled “We only come out at night”. The series is partly conceived as a tribute to anthology TV shows such as the Twilight Zone, which used science fiction and fantasy tropes to explore universal stories of the human condition. The individual images can be seen as different episodes. Each episode having its own story to tell. But throughout the project the consistent concepts are reality/simulation/identity/fantasy and the decaying borders between them. All the events unfold in a single night, bound together by the narrative device of the full moon. The project was influenced by Baudrillard’s “the Ecstacy of Communication”. The characters within the series populate a lonely hyperreal world. They have been so bombarded with simulation from screen after screen from an early age, that “The real itself appears as some large futile body” (Baudrillard, 1988).
